Shishir Khanal

Biography

Shishir Khanal is Nepal's youngest-ever Foreign Minister, a social entrepreneur, and a two-term parliamentarian from Kathmandu-6. Born on December 30, 1978 in Kathmandu, he holds a BA in International Political Economy and Diplomacy from the University of Bridgeport and a Master of International Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He co-founded Teach For Nepal in 2012, an organization that places outstanding graduates in under-resourced community schools, and led reconstruction efforts via the Sarvodaya Shramdan movement in Sri Lanka and Haiti. He briefly served as Education Minister (January–February 2023) and heads the RSP's International Relations Department.
