Nisha Mehta is a professionally trained nurse and politician serving as Minister for Health, Population and Water Supply. Born in Inaruwa, Sunsari district, she graduated from AIIMS Delhi (2006–2010) and completed her postgraduate degree in Nursing from Jiwaji University, India. She worked as a clinical nurse at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan and later served as both a nurse and associate professor at Birat Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar. She was elected to parliament through the RSP proportional representation list under the Madheshi female cluster in 2026.
