Sita Badi is a social activist and politician serving as Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens — the first person from the Badi community to hold a ministerial position in Nepal's history. Born in 1995 in Jhuprakhola, Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet, she grew up in poverty and worked alongside her parents collecting sand from the Bheri River. At age 12, she moved to Kathmandu with NGO support to pursue education, eventually earning a master's degree in political science. She dedicated herself to running a nonprofit focused on reducing social inequality and providing sewing training to women for financial independence before being elected through the RSP proportional representation list.
