Abhishek Pratap Shah

Biography

Abhishek Pratap Shah is a prominent politician from Kapilvastu district and son of late parliamentarian Ajay Pratap Shah. Born on 5 October 1982, he first entered national politics by taking his father’s seat in the interim parliament in 2008 and later served in the Constituent Assembly. A graduate with a BBA degree, he joined the Nepali Congress in 2017 after stints with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum. In the 2082 BS election he was elected from Kapilvastu‑3 with 23,535 votes and a margin of 4,645 votes. Shah is known for advocating youth empowerment and inclusive politics.
